The Business Partners help managers, work groups, individuals and departments identify the causes of organizational problems and works to develop solutions based on the group's input and needs. The Business Partner will engage in a dialogue, an interactive process, in which confrontation, clarification and interpretations play major roles. The Business Partner can also be used as a catalyst for helping a department or group foster new perceptions, to reframe or redefine a problem, or plan for the future. The most basic consulting is a brief, informal conversation. The more sophisticated consultation involves a complete intervention and can take several months for completion.
