Million Steps Pedometer Program

Are you interested in becoming more active and having fun at the same time?

Contact Mary Warner, Manager of Work Life at 631-5900 or mwarner3@nd.edu to find out how you and your colleagues can join in the Million Steps Pedometer Program.

Goal: Accumulate one million steps in one hundred days.

100 days, 10,000 steps each day = one million steps!

Why? The Cooper Institute of Aerobics Research has determined 10,000 steps/day (approximately 5 miles) is the amount of physical activity needed to lower body fat, improve blood pressure and increase aerobic fitness.

Cost to participate: $20.00 (includes pedometer, instruction pamphlet and a log book)

A surprise incentive will also be given at the completion of the
program for all who attain one million steps!

The Million Steps Pedometer Program is jointly sponsored by
Work Life and RecSports.

Life Sign Smoking Cessation Monitors can help put you into control. The monitor records your smoking habit and uses the information to create a withdrawal program that lets you withdraw at a pace that is gradual and easy for you. The program takes about two to five weeks depending on your personal smoking habit. Contact Mary Warner , Manager of Work Life at 631-1802 for information on reserving a monitor.
